Now a day there is a fierce competition to provide a plethora of hosting services. There are companies just vying to gain your business. Most of them offer web hosting services for free.

Now a day there is a fierce competition to provide a plethora of hosting services. There are companies just vying to gain your business. Most of them offer web hosting services for free. You might wonder where the catch is, until you consider the numerous advertisements that pop up on your site. This can be a put off for many visitors who come to your site. They may look elsewhere because of the irritating pop-ups or adverts that keep coming up. So how does one avoid the consequences of free website hosting services? By opting for paid but cheaper hosting services of course!

That brings us to the next question – where to get cheap web hosting? There are plenty of companies that offer cheap hosting solutions. However there are several tricks to help you decide which the best one for you is.

Space. The first requirement is space. If you happen to have files that occupy too much disk space or bandwidth, then it’s best to choose a company that offers a large site that enables downloads too.

Email. Most webhosting companies will provide email support free of cost. One thing to remember while considering where to get cheap hosting is that storage and viewing of emails will surely take up disk space.

Customer Service. Most website hosting service providers are notorious in their customer support. Therefore, it helps to choose a web site hosting vendor that has good support. It’s also important to find a company with a good web hosting rating.

Downtime Issues. The last thing you want is for your website to experience downtime issues. So while looking for where to get cheap hosting consider the amount of uptime your host will provide you. Uptime should ideally be 99.5% to qualify a hosting provider as being good. That means, your site will be inaccessible for at most 7.2 minutes in a day. Check out a web hosting directory

Great company to check out is, http://webhostingrating.com

Dedicated server hosting exists when a company hosts only your website on a single computer (server). Most web hosting is shared, with hundreds of websites residing on a single computer.

Dedicated server hosting exists when a company hosts only your website on a single computer (server). Most web hosting is shared, with hundreds of websites residing on a single computer.

The advantage of a dedicated server is obvious. If only your site is hosted, you will have all of the computer’s resources dedicated to running your site. It will run faster and will likely be running in a more secure environment. With dedicated hosting you will have:

* A massive amount of storage space for your website
* High bandwidth for millions of hits per day
* A high level of technical support
* The ability to install your own proprietary or specialized software
* Complete control over the server configuration
* A high level of security necessary for large ecommerce sites

The total storage space needed must also include the size of your database(s), email boxes, statistics logs and anything else that you have on the server. For example, an article directory created using php, may need its own server if it has more than 50,000 articles. If your site will host high quality images or photos, this will also quickly accumulate storage space. Plan for at least a year in advance before you decide on a hosting solution.

When traffic increases dramatically colocation services may be appropriate.

For small to medium sized businesses managed hosting solutions is an important key a company’s success.

If your site is small, but extremely popular, it may receive thousands of visitors a day. If they are each downloading 500KB or more, the total bandwidth quickly adds up.

For instance, a celebrity fan site with desktop wallpapers and short mp3 sound bites could have 5,000 visitors a day. If each visitor downloads 2 (100KB) wallpapers and one (200KB) sound clip, that totals 400KB. Then you must add all the pages and thumbnails that the viewer sees but doesn’t download (another 200KB). If you multiply this average (600KB) x 5,000 visitors, you get 3,000,000KB or 3GB. That adds up to 90GB of traffic a month!

Another thing to consider is the complexity of the site. If it interacts with several databases and contains several scripting languages, you may require more technical support than the average site owner. It is much easier to have special scripts and security features installed on a dedicated server, than it is on a shared one. Needless to say, you will have complete control over what programs reside on your server, and what extra security features you have in place.

However, dedicated website hosting is much more expensive than basic hosting and you may have to spend a lot of money for technicians to install and configure your software. If you think you may require a dedicated solution, it is imperative that you research your hosting provider thoroughly before committing. The number of customers, experience in the industry, quality of their data center and quality of their computer hardware and software are just some of the things to consider.

For all your web hosting needs perhaps Superb.net, www.superb.net/dedicated-servers , can help.

What if politicians could be replace by an automated computer systems that actually represented what the people wanted at any given time? Is this something from science fiction or a reality awaiting to happen in the near future?

What if politicians could be replace by an automated computer systems that actually represented what the people wanted at any given time? Is this something from science fiction or a reality awaiting to happen in the near future?

Seriously, what if every home across the United States were given a free computer that would act as a sort of centralized government information center where citizens could find out whatever they needed to know about their local, state and federal government, with the ability to keep up to date on the latest laws, trends and issues, do their taxes, and actually vote on issues online throughout the year from the comforts of their home and much, much, more? This would be a game changer.

The government information center will not be able to surf the internet for entertainment or serve as a workstation for work and/or projects nor will the system contain recording devices and/or a web cam to keep track of people.

Rather, the system is a technology tool where responsible citizens actually take control of the destiny of the United States of America. Such technology is actually being developed by a company called Interconnect 365. The system one day might actually replaced elected officials as the pulse of the American people could be registered and heard no different than votes being taken by American Idol. Obviously the online voting system will be a lot more complex and secure than voting online with your normal computer and/or over a smart phone as the system would be certified and registered perhaps tying into a U.S. Census type of platform. The need for elected officials will still be there but the voice of the American people will be heard as elected officials will be mandated to use the system as the power will be given back to the people. If a tie were to happen then the topic would be addressed in public debate.

In order for a system such as this to work the entire population of the United Sates would need to be retrained starting in our schools. Imagine kids being taught what the constitution actually means as becoming part of the American legislative process was no different than learning English and/or Math. There is much to be done in order to develop an actual working system such as this but an immediate first step that can be implemented across the United States is called eCongress, “Bring Home the Politicians”.

According to the “Bring Home the Politicians” website, http://bringhomethepoliticians.com/ the mission of the movement is:

“TO ESTABLISH AN eCONGRESS TO RELOCATE US REPRESENTATIVES TO OUR LOCAL DISTRICTS, US SENATORS TO OUR STATE CAPITALS, AND STATE REPRESENTATIVES & STATE SENATORS TO OUR CITY HALLS/COURTHOUSES TO SECURELY TELECOMMUTE FOR NO LESS THAN 75% OF THEIR TERMS TO INCREASE VOTER ACCESS AND REDUCE LOBBYIST INFLUENCE”.

After reading more information about this movement and watching a few videos, eCongress actually makes a lot of sense and is something more American’s need to be made aware of as this is an actual movement taking place with a lot of states already onboard.

Today, it is important to realize we can not buy ourselves out of debt. Rather we must start focusing on the local economy regardless if we live in a global community. Also, people need to get involved in serving their local community. Civic responsibility must become a core American value. Unfortunately many American’s, both rich and poor, are not involved in their local communities and in many cases lack the information on how to become involved. Serving one another can come in a full range of different opportunities as such opportunities are endless. Supporting your local community and serving one another equates into “Love Thy Neighbor” and “Love One Another”. Yet if American’s today do not start examining and/or implementing such ideas as this the sovereignty of the United States of America is at risk.

It is critical and essential to have a sound and healthy government. Today it is not.

In order to implement such ideas as eCongress we will need to spread the message of the movement. One potential way of spreading the message of “Bring Home the Politicians” is having local community and faith based organizations adopt such platforms, such as Optimist International, Rotary, Kiwanis and other non-union organizations who are already engaged and involved in local communities across the United States.

When such a system is implemented our elected officials would be held more accountable by the local citizens who put them in power because they would spend the majority of their time in the local community. The possibilities of tying the eCongress system into a automated eGoverment system installed in homes will be revolutionary as the first step right now in the present moment is to educated yourself about eCongress and how to “Bring Home the Politican’s”.

Below is a video about the movement. If you love America and want a better future for the United States it is important to ask yourself, “If not now, then when”?

Many web hosting solution companies will advise that the tags, which are hidden from view but embedded in the page`s code, are the first glimpse a search engine has as to the relevance of your site to the information requested in a search.

You can have the greatest store on the planet offering the best products for the best prices, but if no one travels down the road on which your store is located, your business will fail due to lack of customers. The same holds true with an internet business. Regardless of the quality of your site, you will need a Web hosting Solution to get you noticed on the information highway.

Numerous websites are built from the ground up and those new to the internet often forget a few basics such as the importance of meta tags and their relevance to the page on which they are attached. Many web hosting solution companies will advise that the tags, which are hidden from view but embedded in the page`s code, are the first glimpse a search engine has as to the relevance of your site to the information requested in a search.

There a couple of important considerations to keep in mind when searching for a hosting company offering web hosting solutions for you or your business. The amount of space provided for your site and the amount of bandwidth available for your visitors. It may be better to have more available than you plan to use to keep your site up and running and for any additional adjustments you make in the future.

If the web hosting solution provider you chose continues to have a lot of down time, you might consider switching to one that offers dedicated servers. That is one who sets aside whatever size storage server you contract for strictly for you. This also prevents what is known as crossover with other sites that may be on the same server as yours.

Additionally, dedicated servers also offer the web hosting solution of potential viruses from getting into your files from another site. Since yours will be isolated into its own dedicated memory, nothing can get in unless you put it there. You can either contract for them with a good web hosting company, or buy your own and set them up in your place of business.

Most web hosting solution such as uk web hosting services offer help in website design and other services that go along with it, such as form building, shopping carts and others and will often give you a good price on the hosting plan if you also purchase the other services being offered. Whatever your choice of services, carefully research all web hosting company plans before making a long-term commitment.

A good first step is to check out UK Web Hosting at http://www.thetop10bestwebhosting.com/

It is a jungle in the web hosting world. There are thousands of web hosting companies competing for you to consider offering different types of web hosting. For the consumer it is not easy to determine which hosting type is best for their needs. It can often take some trial and error — something that we would all like to avoid.

It is important to choose the right type of hosting for your needs. The hosting types represent a range of web hosting. Depending on your needs, Co-located Hosting or Reseller Hosting might be what you need so those options are discussed as well. Unlimited Web Hosting is a must.

Nexx web hosting platform is a company you should consider.

With Nexx you get one full year of Unlimited Web Hosting and one free .COM domain name for only $10. Each $10 Nexx hosting plan includes:

Unlimited Web Hosting

Nexx Web Hosting includes an easy to use control panel which allows users to install popular open source apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and Zen Cart at the click of a button.

In a world of blogs and WordPress it is important to choose a company that has the a reliable data center. All Nexx hosting services are powered by a top tier North American datacenter which utilizes clustered server technology, allowing proper resource allocation at all times so customers’ websites will never go down or slow down.

So when you are searching for a web hosting company the natural question is how much should you pay for web hosting services? Well, the answer to this question really depends on what you are going to be hosting and is also tied to the type of hosting you select.

Typically, most hosting companies are very competitive with price versus features and services. As with most purchases and prices you often get what you pay for; however, when looking at very expensive hosting plans, you may be able to find equally capable hosting companies and plans with a significant price difference. That is, the most expensive hosting companies may not necessarily be the best.

“We’re committed to providing customers with affordable solutions to establish and grow web presence. At just $10 for the first year, this unlimited hosting package provides a great opportunity to those who have not yet experienced our state-of-the-art technology and top quality customer service,” says Suat Alaybeyoglu, Director of Marketing. “On top of all the included rich features, we’re also providing a money back guarantee to all new customers.”

How can you beat $10 for the first year? The promotional code is SPARK10

Everyone should start saving money, so check out Nexx now.

Students of all ages struggle in math as the United States of America has recognized the importance of teaching science, technology, engineering and math in our schools starting at a young age. Yet what do you do when you need help in these subjects especially when there is no one around to answer your statistics questions? Luckily there is a brand new type of company called TutorVista.

TutorVista is an online live 24X7 tutoring company with close to 5 million tutors standing by online to answer whatever question you may have in subjects such as math. The key here is the word LIVE. Yes, live tutors are standing by to help. This is incredible especially when students today have to understand the complexities of math, especially since we are now living in a world of technology. Many students need statistics help requiring a statistics tutor yet up until now there is very little they could do to retrieve the information they need when they need it beyond normal school hours.

Students using TutorVista who have statistics problems can get statistics help 24X7. Also, first time users who need help will receive the service for free, in this case free statistics help. Nowhere else can you get this type of 24X7 online tutoring service provided by a global education services company offering a wide range of tutoring expertise on other subjects beyond just statistics.

If you are a student who needs help or know of a student that may need help in a particular subject, perhaps needing statistics answers, TutorVista is definitely a place to visit.

Well, those days are gone and a new online company has emerged called, ShopWiki. ShopWiki is a online retailer that sells products from over 30,000 stores. What this means is shoppers are guaranteed to find the lowest prices for the products they want.

ShopWiki’s product search feature is great. For example, if you are interested in purchasing a Cannon EOS camera, you can either enter the manufacturers name and/or model directly into ShopWiki’s search box or you can select one of the many different product categories located on ShopWiki’s front page. To search for the camera you want you would select “Electronics”. On this page you will find the camera and photography category. Within the digital camera category there is an option to either select “Cameras” or “Popular Cameras”. The “Cameras” category allows users to search from many different types of cameras such as Digital SLR. The “Popular” category allows users to search from many different camera manufacturers such as Cannon EOS, Nikon CoolPix, Cannon PowerShot, and Panasonic Lumix. The more you drill down eventually the camera you want will appear at the lowest price on the Internet.

That’s it. ShopWiki is really easy to use and you can search for almost any type of product you could ever want. Searching for products uses the same methodology we used to search for the Cannon EOS camera. ShopWiki has made shopping easy and fun. The cool part is with so many different companies selling their products online only ensures receiving the lowest prices thus equating into the best deals possible.

Everyone loves to save money, so go discover ShopWiki for yourself and see how a online revolution has begun.

Many in management would argue this is a colossal waste of time and ask what good could come out of their employees aimlessly socializing on these time sucking networks?

Mark Pasetsky

Facebook. Twitter. Foursquare.

Walk through the office and I bet you’ll spot one of your colleagues updating their status.

Is this a good thing?

Many in management would argue this is a colossal waste of time and ask what good could come out of their employees aimlessly socializing on these time sucking networks?

Before yesterday, I have to admit I was on the fence when it came to answering that question.

But, I am fortunately writing this post from the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival (I better update my Facebook and Twitter!) where I attended a seminar held by IBM and Euro RSCG 4D. And, now I’m convinced social networking in the office is time well-spent.

Why? Social Media is all about “accelerating business,” according to Euro RSCG 4D’s George Gallate.

How so you ask? Here’s my takeaway from yesterday’s seminar:

1) Watch your competitors
In the past, you had to invest a ton of time and energy on the ground. Today, by becoming “friends” with a competitor, it’s so much easier to keep an eye on the competition. Simple status and location updates is sometimes all you need to make a conclusion about your rival’s next big move!

2) Prospecting Gets Easier
If you’re looking for new business, look no further than social media. With many customers openly asking for advice on products and services on places like Facebook, there’s a prospect revolution going on — especially in the business-to-business world where “marketing is based on trust, networking and a one-to-one relationship,” said IBM’s Ben Edwards.

3) Gather Customer Feedback
“Your employees are your ambassadors in social,” says Euro RSCG 4D’s, Sander Volten. And, “they can connect with insiders and outsiders, foster conversations, and listen to what’s being said about your company and products.”

Volten adds, “You should encourage them to actively engage in them. That’s something different than them playing ‘mafia wars’ all day long.”

The Federal Communications Commission has taken the first formal steps towards tougher rules for broadband.

The stage has been set for what many predict will be an ugly fight over broadband plans for US citizens.

The Federal Communications Commission has taken the first formal steps towards tougher rules for broadband.

It asked for public comment on three different plans, igniting an expensive lobbying campaign by all sides.

The looming battle follows a court ruling questioning the FCC’s right to regulate internet service providers after one throttled traffic to users.

That court ruling dealt a major blow to a central plank of the FCC’s broadband plan called net neutrality which demands that all data traffic be treated equally.

The five commissioners on the FCC board were split 3-2 in putting out for public comment proposals on new regulations for the broadband industry.

The five commissioners on the FCC board were split 3-2 in putting out for public comment proposals on new regulations for the broadband industry

‘Third way’

One of the three plans the public is being asked to comment on, and which is favoured by FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, is called the “third way”.

This would involve reclassifying broadband so it went from being a lightly regulated service to one with more vigorous oversight.

In return for this tightening up, Mr Genachowski has proposed the new classification would not regulate on how much people pay for their broadband. It would also shy away from overseeing internet content, services, applications or electronic commerce sites.

The other two options include leaving the existing regulatory framework in place or imposing the full force of stricter regulations.

ISPs, such as Comcast, AT&T and Verizon, prefer the status quo and have come out against the “third way” proposal.

“This is impossible to justify on either a policy or legal basis and we remain confident that if the FCC persists in its course – and we truly hope it does not – the courts will surely overturn their action,” said Jim Cicconi, AT&T’s senior executive vice president for external and legislative affairs.

Verizon said the FCC’s move was “a terrible idea”.

By contrast, web giants such as Google and Amazon extol the value of free-flowing web traffic and an open internet.

“Broadband infrastructure is too important to be left outside of any oversight,” said Richard Whitt, Google’s telecom and media counsel in a blog posting.

‘To the death’

The political dynamics of the FCC board, two Republicans and three Democrats, imply that the “third way” looks almost certain to be the plan it adopts.

Some suspect this will provoke more lobbying and may draw legal challenges.

“There is a very big fight brewing and it’s the carriers versus everybody else,” said Erik Sherman, analyst with BNET.com, part of CBS’s digital business network.

“There is little doubt it’s going to be a right data Donnybrook and I am not sure the consumers are winners in any circumstances. These companies are not fighting for the little guy. They are fighting for themselves and higher profit margins.”

That view was echoed by Public Knowledge, a Washington based public advocacy group.

“It’s a tough road ahead and the telcos are going to fight this to the death,” communications director Art Brodsky told BBC News.

“AT&T in the first quarter of this year spent $6m on lobbying. That is one company. One quarter. Compare that to Google which spent $4m in the whole of last year.”

The Computer and Communications Industry Association said the “third way” option is the only realistic option.

“Without deliberate FCC action, consumers, entrepreneurs, small businesses and non-profits will be left completely powerless against the corporate commercial interests of their unregulated internet access providers,” said Ed Black, association president.

‘Misguided’

A research paper released ahead of the FCC vote warned that net neutrality rules could cost hundreds of thousands of jobs in the USA .

The report argued that a 10% reduction in investment by broadband providers would cost more than 500,000 jobs before 2015.

“These regulations severely restrict the ability of network companies to manage their own network traffic, what technology and what techniques they will use to get a robust service and will close off important new business models in this new world we live in,” Bret Swanson, president of technology research firm Entropy Economics told the BBC.

Fellow author Charles Davidson of the Advanced Communications Law & Policy Institute at New York Law School said: “With the US economy still in a fragile state, imposing restrictive regulation on one of the country’s most dynamic sectors is misguided.”
